Hopes were high for Bloodborne news at Sony’s latest State of Play showcase. After all, fans have been piecing together hints some logical, some borderline conspiracy-level for months. A PlayStation ad referencing “persistence”? A sudden crackdown on a Bloodborne 60fps mod? Surely, these were signs of something brewing.

Instead, Sony used the showcase to announce Days Gone Remastered, a game that, as far as anyone can tell, had zero demand for a remaster. Meanwhile, Bloodborne remains stuck at 30fps, its frame pacing issues still unaddressed, and the long-requested PC port remains elusive.

Why Bloodborne Fans Are Frustrated

Sony has been steadily remastering first-party PlayStation games, but the pattern only makes the lack of Bloodborne updates more painful. Here’s a look at recent remasters and whether they “deserved” it more than Bloodborne:

Game Needed a Remaster? Got a Remaster?
The Last of Us No ✅ Yes
The Last of Us Part 2 No ✅ Yes
Ghost of Tsushima No ✅ Yes
Horizon Zero Dawn No ✅ Yes
Until Dawn No ✅ Yes
Days Gone Absolutely Not ✅ Yes?!

It’s not that Days Gone doesn’t have fans but even Sony didn’t believe in it enough to greenlight a sequel. Meanwhile, Bloodborne, one of the most critically acclaimed PlayStation exclusives, continues to be ignored while less-demanded games get the remaster treatment.

The Bloodborne Problem

At this point, every remaster and PC port Sony announces that isn’t Bloodborne adds fuel to the fire. Each announcement highlights how one of PlayStation’s greatest games remains locked in technical purgatory.

Sony has the power to end this conversation. They don’t have to remaster the game immediately, but a straightforward answer instead of cryptic hints would go a long way.

Until then, every remaster that isn’t Bloodborne will be seen as another missed opportunity. And while Sony continues to sidestep the issue, fans will remain as persistent as ever.
